We operate a rigorous recruitment and selection policy for all posts within the organisation. As an equal opportunity employer, we subscribe to fair and equitable interview techniques at the selection process.
Matching the best candidate to the job means that regardless of the post on offer, Rossie requires interviewees to undertake the following:
  • Tour of the organisation
  • Screening interview/an individual interview
  • Safe interview with a selected group of young people resident in Rossie
  • One to one interview (usually with CEO/DCEO – an individual interview with an emotional intelligence element)
  • Formal interview (usually comprising of 3 appointed managers). Questioning is related to the post on offer.
Some posts may also require additional components within the selection process, e.g:
  • Written exercise
  • Practical test
  • Group exercise
  • Presentation
All successful appointees to Rossie are required to satisfy a number of pre-employment checks prior to commencing, these are:
  • Minimum of 2 referees’ reports
  • Protection Vulnerable Groups application/update (Disclosure Scotland)
  • Occupational health medical
Employment within Rossie is governed by numerous policies and procedures. These are encapsulated into a staff handbook and this assists employees in understanding the rules and regulations involved within their employment.
Rossie’s staff are the greatest resource within the organisation.
