Since we will be asking you to do the best you can, whatever your role, to make Rossie the best place it can be for our young people, it’s only fair that we give you some benefits, above your monthly pay.
Comprehensive Induction Programme.
Your learning at Rossie starts with your induction. Whatever role you are here to do, we will show you around the facilities, so you can get to know your new environment before you start. We will also explain each service and how these services work together to provide the best service to our young people.
Continuous Professional Development.
You do not have to stand still in your career at Rossie. We regularly provide training and development opportunities which will help you grow both personally and professionally.
Flick Learning is an online platform that offers over 75 courses covering all aspects of health and safety, safeguarding, people skills, handling information, financial crime, childcare and education to name a few. When you join Rossie, you will be enrolled in your own ‘Learning Journey’ covering courses best suited to your job role which supports your learning and continuous personal development. All courses are submitted and approved by the CPD Accreditation Service and where applicable, RoSPA.
Learning Partnership Agreement.
We do not want the worry of cost to stop you from taking up this opportunity. We have a Learning Partnership agreement, where we support you financially to complete your qualifications with us.
Blue Light Card.
We want to empower our staff to lead a meaningful and fulfilling life outside of work as well as inside. We cover the cost for all staff to sign-up to the Blue Light Card, where they can make the most of discounts, both online and in store, for hundreds of high street retailers, restaurants, cinemas, gyms and much, much more!
Employee Assistance Programme (EAP).
We know that sometimes life can throw us some challenges which may impinge on our physical and mental wellbeing. Upon request, we provide our staff with up to 4 free counselling and physiotherapy sessions.
Contributory Company Pension Scheme.
There are two pension schemes available at Rossie. For teaching staff, we utilise the Scottish Teachers Superannuation Scheme (STSS), and for other staff, we utilise the Tayside Pension Fund Scheme. If you are eligible, we will automatically enrol you into a pension scheme unless you ‘opt out’.
Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme.
In order to work with our young people, you must be checked through the Disclosure Scotland PVG scheme, and this cost is covered by us.
Angus Leisure Centres.
We encourage you to look after your health and fitness in and out of work with a 10% Corporate Membership Discount to all Angus Leisure Centres.
Occupational Sick Pay.
We understand that sometimes you are unwell and that you will worry about receiving ‘sick pay’. We currently pay above statutory sick pay to help you if you are ill.
All staff who at Rossie are offered and encouraged to receive flu and Hepatitis B vaccinations from their local medical practice. We cover the cost for these.
Who we help
I view my time in Secure as a rebirth. I was given the chance to let go of all my responsibilities from home and focus on myself. To have been given the opportunity to learn how to live my life again is very much appreciated
