Youth Justice Voices was set up in 2019 by the Scottish Government to allow young people aged 16-25yrs who have been in the criminal justice system (from stop and search to custodial sentence) to have their voices heard.

Three of Rossie’s young people have joined the group, where current topics are – No Knives Better Lives; a 10-year plan to improve relationships between Care Experienced young people and the Police; as well as ways to get better mental health services for Care Experienced young people.

Our young people have met with the No Knives Better Lives team who are currently making a virtual game on how to reduce/stop knife crime. The aim is to roll this out to all schools across Scotland.  Young people have helped to give feedback on the game, are currently doing voice overs, and will be given pilots of the game to provide further feedback prior to this going out to all schools.

We’re delighted that Rossie is helping to design such a worthwhile and important game for Scotland’s young people.
